No, you do not need to be a Medical Provider in many cases to own a franchise. However, some states do not permit an unlicensed person to own or operate a medical practice or clinic. If you are not a Medical Provider in those states you would own a medical practice management company that would provide management services to an affiliated professional medical practice.
